69.03 Acres in Harvest Donated by Aronov Realty Management

HUNTSVILLE –  Located at the corner of Hwy. 53 and Jeff Road, the newly preserved property is now part of the almost 6,000 North Alabama acres protected and managed by The Land Trust.  According to Executive Director Cynthia Parker, “The Land Trust is thrilled that Aronov Realty Management chose to protect the majority of the Harvest Shopping Center parcel by donating it to The Land Trust.  These acres, including the special feature of Dry Creek, will remain green and undeveloped – protecting animal habitat and hardwoods forever.”

John C. Argo, Vice President Retail Development for Aronov, said, “These woodlands and former farmland provide a beautiful backdrop to the new Harvest Square Shopping Center.  Our company is proud to be an active community partner in Harvest and North Alabama.  Working in cooperation with The Land Trust to protect and manage this greenspace was a good decision.”

“Madison County’s District Four is one of the fastest growing in the state,” affirmed Madison County Commissioner Dale Strong.  “Those who live here appreciate its natural beauty and the importance of encouraging development while protecting our natural heritage.  The greenspace now protected by The Land Trust will be an important part of that balance.”

The Land Trust, a member-supported non-profit organization, serves 11 counties of North Alabama and is dedicated to the preservation of lands for public use to enhance education, conservation and quality of life.  Founded in 1987 as Alabama’s first land trust, The Land Trust currently protects and maintains almost 6,000 acres.  The lands remain protected in their natural state and, in most cases, are open to the public for recreation such as hiking, nature study, bird watching and photography.
